SO to post - even the flops.
Yes, I know it's my FIRST post really, but it flopped. So this might not be a blog of lots of worthy recipes - maybe you can go with me on this journey and we'll have some "Eureka!" moments together.
But it wasn't this time.
I wanted Cinnamon Rolls. Low LOW point ones, the regular "Reduced fat" Pillsbury Rolls are already 3 pts, How do I beat that.
Well I guess I don't.
Or maybe I just keep trying. I'm thinking maybe I should figure out how to make the FATTY cinnamon rolls first - THEN take my hand at cutting out the fat...right?
Anyway - I have never used yeast in my life. So that was new. And I kneaded and let raise, and punched it and let raise...and watched it get sticky on every tea towel I won.
They were dense, with way too much wheat flour and oatmeal. But smelled delicious while baking. Truth be told they came out like hefty cookies. Everyone had ONE. Then they sat til they hot the trash tonight - about two weeks nearly.
I didn't want a cream or thick frosting, so I opted for a Honey Butter. Which also seemed to have flopped, with too much honey in there. Luckily I did get my family to eat that later on cornbread.
