So this might not be a blog of lots of worthy recipes - maybe you can go with me on this journey and we'll have some "Eureka!" moments together.

But it wasn't this time.

I wanted Cinnamon Rolls. Low LOW point ones, the regular "Reduced fat" Pillsbury Rolls are already 3 pts, How do I beat that.

Well I guess I don't.

Or maybe I just keep trying. I'm thinking maybe I should figure out how to make the FATTY cinnamon rolls first - THEN take my hand at cutting out the fat...right?

Anyway - I have never used yeast in my life. So that was new. And I kneaded and let raise, and punched it and let raise...and watched it get sticky on every tea towel I won.

They were dense, with way too much wheat flour and oatmeal. But smelled delicious while baking. Truth be told they came out like hefty cookies. Everyone had ONE. Then they sat til they hot the trash tonight - about two weeks nearly.

I didn't want a cream or thick frosting, so I opted for a Honey Butter. Which also seemed to have flopped, with too much honey in there. Luckily I did get my family to eat that later on cornbread.

Revenge of PMS

I would have to say that Weight Watchers is the hardest during PMS week. (Or week and a half if you are like me!) I have a big appetite. And it gets fierce during my PMS, those are my symptoms. No cramps, no aches etc, just want to eat all day long.

So we had a date night - and that's where it spun out of control. Trying to pull it together....

But made (and ate) brownie batter, El Pollo Loco, and I really really want a Squeeze Burger.

The worst is: I'm not weighing myself. I usually do it everyday - and I stopped after Sunday. Yeah, I know it's Wednesday but it was a habit. And I feel weird eating and not knowing where I am on the scale. I'll re-check on Saturday, my weigh in day. I told myself I was allowed a Squeeze Burger if I got under 128 lbs, which I did, but with this week I don't think I'm below the mark.

Anyway, onto my trials and tribulations for my Cinnamon Roll challenge. I've made up my recipe and going to hit it. I didn't realize how time intensive it is. Here's the bigger dilemma, We eat a lot of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls at this house. The reduced fat ones are 3 pts (at least by my memory) and here I am putting time into these rolls that are much more difficult than opening a pop container and tossing in the over. 3 pts!! How am I going to get below that??

Well if my recipe works, WW.com's Recipe Builder says it's a 2 pt roll! I'm going to guess more like 2.5. So we'll see if it's worth it.

Brainstorming

So, I'm first challenging myself. I'm at this moment putting together a cinnamon roll recipe, which I h0pe to make in the coming week.

Til then, since it's October and getting chilly (okay so it's 72 degrees here) but I thought soup is in order. With a wild hair moment, I decide to head over to Crate & Barrel and got a Cusinart Smart stick (immersible blender). I'm thrilled. It's a kitchen gadget both Rod and I have wanted for a long time.

So here are my soup ideas. Notice they are all Paula Deen! I do notice Paula does not seem to put her nutritional values on her recipes. If you have a favorite, let me know as I need a good starting place.

http://recipes.pauladeen.com/index.php/recipes/view2/french_onion_soup/

http://recipes.pauladeen.com/index.php/recipes/view2/tastes_like_lasagna_soup/

http://recipes.pauladeen.com/index.php/recipes/view2/blt_soup/

http://recipes.pauladeen.com/index.php/recipes/view2/poblano_chicken_chowder/

http://recipes.pauladeen.com/index.php/recipes/view2/carrot_soup_with_blue_cheese/

http://www.lynnskitchenadventures.com/2009/09/paula-deens-black-bean-soup.html
